What is a Golf Marathon?

The Golf Marathon is a fun, fast-paced way to support SON-Life Camp & Retreat Center—while playing more golf in one day than you ever imagined! Whether you’re ready to take on the full marathon (100+ holes) or a half marathon (50 holes in the morning), this event is designed for golfers of all levels, from die-hards to casual players.

Choose your challenge:

  • Full Marathon – Play 100+ holes between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

  • Half Marathon – Play 50 holes between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

We make it possible (and fun!) with a special format and some helpful rules:

  • Max score of 3 over par per hole (pick up and move on)

  • No stroke-and-distance penalty for out-of-bounds shots (stroke only)

  • Personal golf cart and caddie for each player

  • 27 holes reserved at Orchard Hills Golf Course

  • Dinner provided following the event for all full-day players (and half-marathoners who want to stick around!)

With this setup, golfers can play 9 holes in under an hour—so yes, 100+ holes in one day is totally doable!

Donate or Become a Sponsor

Not planning to golf, but still want to make an impact? You can still make a difference! Partner with us by donating a door prize or becoming a corporate sponsor of the Golf Marathon. Your generosity helps kids attend SON-Life Camp, where they can grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and experience God’s love in life-changing ways.

We’re so thankful for the West Michigan businesses and individuals who step up to support this event—it truly impacts lives! Every sponsorship and donation helps bring kids one step closer to a Christ-centered camp experience.

    For golfers:

    • New golfers: Each sponsor must complete an individual sponsorship form.

    • Returning golfers: Just update your sponsor spreadsheet as needed.

All donations are tax deductible and go directly toward helping kids experience a Christ-centered week at camp.

  • You are not responsible for collecting pledges—we handle that for you. We’ll mail a thank-you and summary to each sponsor based on the forms you turn in.

To help us do this well, please be sure to include the full names and addresses of every sponsor so we can provide proper acknowledgment and tax-deductible receipts.
